Il est facile de fabriquer soi-même des interrupteurs sécuritaires pour machines électriques. Lorsque celui de mon banc de scie m’a laissé tombé, le prix d’un nouvel interrupteur a initié une remue-méninges dans ma tête. Voici donc le résultat.
Matériaux requis : boîte électrique, interrupteur ‘Déco’ berçant, un morceau de mousse autocollant (pensez languette isolante pour fenêtres), une pièce de bois (j’utilise du HDF) d’environ 3/8’’ d’épaisseur.
It’s easy to make your own safety switches for your power tools. When the switch of my tablesaw let me down, the price tag of a new switch initiated a brain storming in my head. Here’s the result.
Required material : electical box, rocking ‘Deco’ switch, a piece of self adhesive foam (think window sealing strip), an approx. 3/8’’ thick scrapwood (I use HDF).

Un carré de mousse autocollant est placé sur la partie inférieure de l’interrupteur, celle qui coupe le courant.

Un morceau de bois, vissé de l’intérieur, est fixé sur le dessus de la boîte vis-à-vis la façade du morceau de mousse, et la palette avant, dans laquelle a été percé un trou de 1-1/4’’ de diamètre, est fixée à l’autre avec une petite charnière. Voilà ! Je glisse mon doigt dans le trou pour la mise sous tension et sur la palette rouge pour couper le courant.
A piece of wood is attached, screwed from the inside, on the top of the box, even with the face of the foam square, and the front paddle, in which a 1-1/4’’ hole has been bored, is attached to the other with a small hinge. Voilà! I slip my finger in the hole to power up the tool and on the red paddle to kill it.

J’ai aussi remplacé l’interrupteur à bascule de ma perceuse à colonne avec un autre interrupteur sécuritaire de mon cru.
I also replaced the toggle switch of my drill press with another safety switch of my own.
