J’installe un fer à arrondir de 1/8’’ de diamètre dans ma toupie à ébarber.

I install a 1/8’’ rounding over bit in my trim router.

Je place les pièces sur ce tapis antidérapant et je ne vais arrondir que le périmètre montré. Le joint central doit rester carré.

I drop the pieces on this anti skid mat and I will round over only the shown perimeter. The central joint must stay square.

Voici un assemblage à sec. Notez que pour plus de confort j’ai enroulé du ruban de hockey (ruban athlétique adhésif en tissu noir) autour du goujon, sous la chambre à air de vélo.

Here is a dry assembly. Note that for more comfort I wrapped the dowel under the bike inner tube with hockey tape (black adhesive fabric athletic tape).

Je perce chaque côté de la face à la perceuse à colonne pour garantir des trous perpendiculaires.

I drill each side of the face at the drill press to get perpendicular holes.

Après avoir étendu la colle sur un côté, je cloue pour stabiliser les pièces et je perce des avant-trous pour les vis.

After spreading the glue on one side, I nail both pieces to stabilize them and I predrill for the screws.

Ensuite j’étends la colle à chaque extrémité du goujon et j’assemble l’autre côté.

Then I spead glue at both ends of the dowel and I assemble the other side.

Un clou fixe chaque extrémité du goujon en attendant que la colle sèche.

A nail freeze each end of the dowel until the glue dries.

Je vaporise une mince couche de colle sur la face et sous un morceau de papier à poncer à grains fins.

I spray a thin coat of glue of the face and under a piece of fine grit sandpaper.

Une heure sous pression devrait être suffisant.

One hour under pressure should be enough.

Voici donc le porte-panneau complété.

À l’aide de ce serre-joint à action rapide, je fixe le porte-panneau sur ce panneau et le transport en sera de beaucoup facilité.

Et ça marche, littéralement !

Using this fast action clamp, I secure the carrier to this panel and the ride should be much more easy.

And it works, litterally!

À la perceuse à colonne, je perce un trou de 7/8’’ dans chaque pièce en fonction du diamètre de mon goujon disponible.

At the drill press, I bore a 7/8’’ hole in each piece according to the diameter of the dowel I have.

Les pièces sont découpées à la scie à ruban.

The pieces are cut at the band saw.

J’adoucis tous les bords à ma ponceuse à tambour verticale maison.

I smooth all the edges at my shopmade spindle sander.

Au banc de scie, j’utilise cette pièce pour ajuster le guide de refente.

At the table saw, I’m using this part to set the rip fence.

Après avoir coupé en hauteur selon la pièce, je coupe une largeur arbitraire, environ 8’’.

After cutting the height according to the part, I cut to an arbitrary width, about 8’’.
