J’installe un fer à arrondir de 3/8″ de rayon dans la table à toupie (défonceuse) pour adoucir la poignée de transport.

I install a 3/8″ radius rounding over bit in the router table to smooth out the carrying handle.

I stopped the profile about 2″ from the ends.

I mark locations for the screws, I punch and I drill at the drill press.

Compte tenu que le récipiendaire a une magnifique collection d’objets reliés à Batman, j’ai découpé ce logo trouvé sur Internet pour personnaliser la boîte è outils.

Since the recipient has a magnificent collection of Batman related objects, I cut this logo that I found on the Internet to customize the tool tote.

Tool Tote (gift) #1 Boîte à outils (cadeau)

Je fabrique une boîte à outils pour offrir en cadeau à mon gendre. Il n’est pas bricoleur mais quelques outils sont toujours utiles et une place pour les ranger l’est tout autant. Ici je coupe le fond (5″ de large) de cette plaque pré-collée.

I’m making a tool tote as a gift for my son-in-law. He’s not a handyman, but few tools are always handy and a place to gather them as well. Here I’m cutting the bottom (5″ wide) from this glued up panel.

Je coupe les côtés et je réserve le reste pour les extrémités et la poignée de transport.

I cut the sides and I keep the remaining for the ends and the carrying handle.

Je vais cacher le fond entre les quatre côtés.

I will hide the bottom between the four sides.

Après avoir coupé les extrémités à la même largeur que le fond, je les coupe à la hauteur de 12″ utilisant la butée indiquée à gauche.

After ripping the ends the same width as the bottom, I cut them 12″ high using the shown stop.

J’utilise ce gabarit de courbes françaises pour faire mon propre gabarit en carton.

I’m using this French Curves jig to make my own jig out of cardboard.

Je coupe les courbes à la scie à ruban et je les ponce à la perceuse à colonne utilisant mon plus gros manchon.

I cut the curves at the band saw and I sand them at the drill press using my larger sleeve.

After marking (circled) where to keep the edges square, I chamfer the remaining.

Je trace, coupe les côtés à la scie à ruban et je termine avec un ciseau à bois et un maillet.

I trace, cut the sides at the band saw and I finish with a wood chisel and a mallet.

J’ai fraisé les arêtes à ma ponceuse à disque maison.

I chamfered the edges at my homemade disk sander.
