À l’étape suivante j’ai installé des tasseaux en travers et sur le périmètre pour recevoir les panneaux du toit.

The next step was to install battens across and around the perimeter to receive the roof panels.

Ensuite les fascias d’aluminium ainsi que les moulures d’égouttement.

Then the aluminum fascias as well as the drip edge moldings.

Finalement les panneaux de toit de bitume moulés et peints. Tel que montré, j’ai utilisé un tasseau bien aligner les clous.

Finally the molded and painted asphalt roofing panels. As shown, I used a straight edge to align the nails.

Si un clou plie, ça fait tout un dégât, lequel je devrai couvrir avec du calfeutrage de la même couleur.

If a nail bends, it makes quite a mess, which I will have to fill with a bead of the same color caulking.

À cause de ce qui précède, j’ai décidé d’utiliser des vis pour fixer le faîtage. J’ai apprêté et peint les vis que j’avais en ma possession et ajouté des rondelles de caoutchouc afin qu’elles soient étanches et similaires aux clous vendus par le manufacturiers.

Because of the above, I decided to use screws to secure the ridge cap. I primed and painted screws that I already had on hand and added rubber washers so they would be waterproof and similar to the nails sold by the manufacturer.

Et enfin le faîtage, du même manufacturier.

And at last, the ridge cap, from the same manufacturer.

Mon projet est terminé et enfin j’ai un espace extérieur à l’abri des intempéries.

My project is finished and finally I have a weatherproof outdoor area.

J’ai réalise ce projet à mon rythme, le premier jour étant le 9 août et le dernier le 7 septembre. Lentement mais surement !

I built this project at my own paste, the first day being August 9th and the last one September 7th. Slowly but sure !

Ce projet consiste à construire un toit à l’intérieur du périmètre de la pergola du côté de la maison. Tel que montré sur cette première photo, j’ai déjà ajouté la panne faîtière (flèche).

This project consist of building a roof within the perimeter of the pergola sited on the side of the house. As shown on this first photo, I’ve already installed the ridge board (arrow).

Ici je m’apprête à couper les sablières à fixer sur les poteaux de coins avant et arrière.

Here I’m ready to cut the wall plates to be fixed to the front and back corner posts.

Notez l’utilisation d’un support temporaire sécurisé avec un serre-joint. Travaillant seul, il faut se débrouiller !

Notice the use of a temporary support secured with a clamp. When working alone, you have make with it !

Ce manche extensible en aluminium me donne une idée visuelle de la pente du toit.

This aluminum extendable handle gives me a visual view of the roof slope.

Ces colombages deviendront les chevrons.

Those studs will become common rafters.

Pour déterminer l’emplacement des pas de chevron sur la sablière, j’utilise une pince pour temporairement maintenir un chevron un peu plus haut que la panne faîtière. Ensuite je découpe avec la scie sauteuse. Ce premier chevron me servira de patron pour les suivants.

To determine the locations for the seat cuts, I temporarily use a clamp to hold a rafter a bit higher (arrow) than the ridge board. Then I make the cuts using a jigsaw. This first rafter will act as a template for the remaining ones.
