Having forgotten to lower the tension after mounting a narrow blade, what badly damaged the tire, I had to replace it.

Besides removing the nut (circle), the lock screw must unscrewed (arrow), at least on this saw model.

Left – To be able to stretch the new urethane tire, I had to soak it in hot water.
Right – The operation is quite fussy, to the point of using spring clamps to hold it.
Clamped in the vice, I was able to slip it between the perimeter edges making sure to bottom out all of it (arrow).
Left – This saw model having a safety washer inside the bearing was a challenge because it must be centered to remount the wheel, what is not an easy task! So, perseverance.
Right – The orange line, at the back, is trace of the former tire that was crushed and stretched.
Left – Once again, spring clamps are essential.
Right – Lately I learned from a band saw manufacturer that it’s not the blade that has to be centered on the tire, but the “gullet between the teeth”, what I will try, and that to minimize blade drift.
Left – The blade must be closed to the bearing and the side support blocks (or bearings), without touching.
Right – The blade side play should be less than 1/4″ (6 mm).
Finally, I set back the blade guard.
I took the habit of marking the Allen key size (arrow) on all my tools, and you probably know why!
