L’été dernier, lors de mes marches quotidiennes avec mon chien, j’ai trouvé ce classeur parmi les rebus de ma librairie locale qui déménageait. Je n’y ai trouvé aucun défaut, même que les clés étaient dans un tiroir. Il y avait aussi un tiroir de clavier d’ordinateur, lequel j’ai donné à une amie qui est confinée pour travailler de la maison (pensez COVID-19).
Était-ce un remerciement de l’Univers parce que je passe régulièrement à cet endroit pour aller divertir les enfants d’une garderie tout à côté de la librairie avec mon chien ? Ils adorent ce chien !
Last summer, while walking the dog, I found this file cabinet among other rubbish of my local stationary store which was moving. I didn’t find any defect, the keys were even in a drawer. There was also a computer keyboard drawer, which I gave to a friend who is confined to work from home (think COVID-19).
Was it thanks from the Universe because I often walk this area with my dog to entertain kids from the adjacent kinder garden ? They just love that dog !
Nul doute que ces trous sur le support supérieur devaient servir à y fixer une table de travail, ce qui m’avait donné l’idée d’y fixer un bloc le boucher et des roulettes pivotantes pour la cuisine (2 tiroirs supplémentaires et un classeur pour les recettes).
No doubt those holes on the upper sub-top were intended to fix a desktop on it, what raised the idea of fixing a butcher block and pivoting casters and use it in the kitchen (two more drawers and a file for recipes).
Compte tenu que la hauteur était parfaite pour être ranger sous mon nouveau tour à bois, et aussi procurer une table de rangement en y ajoutant un dessus, la décision a été facile à prendre. Ce faisant, les notices de mes outils seront à portée de main.
Since the height was perfect to fit under my new lathe, and also providing a storage shelf by adding a top, the decision was easy to make. Doing so, owner’s manuals of my tools will be close to hand.
Pour maximiser le rangement, j’y ai déposé un plateau qui gisait sur une perceuse à colonne (lien) pour accumuler des choses.
To maximize storage, I dropped a tray that was laying on a drill press (link) to gather stuff.
Cette étagère murale (lien), reprise d’une table à toupie (défonceuse), sera également un atout près du tour.
This wall shelf (link), taken from a router table, will also be an asset close to the lathe.
En passant, ces gros aimants terre-rares sous le tour sont parfaites pour ranger les gros accessoires sous le tour.
By the way, those big rare-earth magnets are perfect to store big accessories under the lathe.
Il faut donc garder l’œil et le cœur ouverts !
