Table Saw Spline Jig / Gabarit à lamelles pour banc de scie

Un gabarit très facile à réaliser avec une chute de contreplaqué et deux pièces coupées à 45° à une extrémité.

En passant, cette technique d’assemblage renforce les coins assemblés à 45°, lesquels sont fragiles. Ces joints sont en plus très attrayants.

A jig very easy to make with a plywood scrap and two scraps cut to 45° on one end.

By the way, this assembly technique reinforces 45° corner assemblies, which are fragile. Those joints are also very attractive.

L’angle ainsi formé doit être exactement 45° pour obtenir de bons résultats.

Après plusieurs utilisations, les blocs angulaires devront être remplacés. Alors, pas de colle.

Attention, les vis ne doivent pas rencontrer la lame de scie !

After several uses, the angled blocks will have to be replaced. So, no glue.

Extraire l’excédent s’il y a lieu.

Remove the excess if need be.

Pour ces coupes, il est idéal d’utiliser une lame à dents à bout carré pour des fonds de traits de scie francs.

For such cuts, a flat teeth saw blade is ideal for clean kerf bottoms.

Selon mon projet, je détermine la hauteur de la lame de scie sans toutefois défoncer.

According to my project, I determine the saw blade height without cutting through.

Ce simple gabarit sera utile pour ajuster le guide parallèle pour l’uniformité.

That simple jig will be handy to set the rip fence for consistency.

Une main appuie le cadre sur le contreplaqué et l’autre pousse ce dernier pour la coupe.

One hand pushes the frame against the plywood and the other push the jig forward for the cut.

Pour ce projet en particulier, les traits de scie extérieurs sont à la même distance du bord, de faisant je n’ai qu’à pivoter la pièce.

Ici on peut constater l’avantage d’utiliser une lame de scie à dents à bout carré pour obtenir des fonds carrés.

For this particular project, the outer saw kerfs are the same distance from the edge, therefore I only have to turn around the workpiece.

Here you can see the advantage of using a flat teeth saw blade to get square bottoms.

Je les colle une à une, l’enfonce complètement et enlève l’excès de colle avec un bâtonnet.

Le gabarit lui-même est aussi utile pour soulever le cadre.

Demain je couperai l’excédent des lamelles et poncerai le tout.
