Ma scie à ruban est l’outil sur base roulante que j’utilise le plus souvent. Tel mon montré, j’y range aussi mon coupe panneau.
Si quelqu’un se pose la question, le noir le long du patin est du graphite en aérosol que j’ai appliqué pour qu’il glisse aisément.
My band saw is the tool sitting on a mobile base I use more often. As shown, I also store my panel cutter on it.
If anyone wonders, the black spot along the runner is graphite that I’ve sprayed so it will glide easily.
Lorsque je déplace la scie, je dois soit me pencher pour lever les pédales avec mes doigts ou soit utiliser mes pieds, ce qui n’est pas bon pour les ongles, croyez moi.
Je crois qu’il y a mieux à faire.
When I want to move the saw, I must either bend over to pull-up the pedals with my fingers or use my feet, what is no good for my finger nails, believe me.
I believe there’s a better way.
En fixant un pont de bois dur, tel que montré, je pourrais le saisir à pleine main ou l’actionner avec le pied, deux pédales à la fois !
By adding a hardwood bridge, as shown, I’d be able to grab it with my hand or activate it with my foot, two pedals at a time !
Le métal étant trempé, impossible de le percer. Échec #1.

J’ai essayé ces gros aimants de terre-rare de 1-1/4″ (32mm) de diamètre, mais bien qu’ils soient puissants, ils glissent. Échec #2.
I tried those big 1-1/4″ (32mm) diameter rare-earth magnets, but even if they are strong, they slip. Fail #2.
Pour le moment je me résigne à le fixer avec du ruban double face de tourneur haute performance, pour la stabilité, et du fil d’acier recouvert de vinyle, pour le maintien. Succès #1.
For now I resign myself to fixing it with woodturner’s high-performance double-sided tape, for stability, and vinyl-coated steel wire, to contain it. Success #1.
Qui sait, peut-être qu’un jour je trouverai une autre alternative.
Toutefois, je peux encore y ranger mon coupe panneau. Succès #2.
