A hollow punch set is quite handy in the shop. If you don’t have one, perhaps the idea of making your own for free will appeal you. All you need is an old telescopic antenna (think old radio or TV).
Coupez la tête en gardant une partie de la tige solide, tel que montré.
Cut the head keeping part of the solid stem, as shown.
Commencez par insérer la tige de la tête dans l’extrémité supérieure du plus petit tube, et ainsi de suite, et poussez pour dégager chacun, un par un. Sera sans doute aussi éjecté à chaque étape un petit ressort de cuivre, tel que montré.
Start by inserting the head stem in the upper end of the smaller tube, and so on, and push to free each one, one at a time. No doubt will also be ejected at each step a tiny cupper spring, as shown.
Ensuite il s’agit d’affûter chaque tube sur une bande abrasive ou la meule fine d’un touret.
Then you sharpen each tube at the belt sander or with a fine abrasive wheel at the bench grinder.
Mon antenne m’a procuré sept poinçons creux.

Et ça marche ! Utilisez une chute de bois mou derrière comme tampon.
And it works ! Use a softwood scrap behind as a pad.
Une meule conique (diamants ou pierre) fait aussi l’affaire pour affûter, comme montré, et a l’avantage d’utiliser le diamètre extérieur.
A cone sharpener (diamond or stone) works great too for sharpening, as shown, and has the benefit of using the outer diameter.
