Ce poussoir me sera particulièrement très utile à la table à toupie (défonceuse) et à la dégauchisseuse.
Je coupe et trace cette chute de contreplaqué 1/2″ (12mm) me basant sur mon poussoir que j’apprécie le plus. Notez que j’ai besoin de deux moitiés, tel que montré.
This push stick will be particularly handy at the router table and the jointer.
I cut and trace this 1/2″ (12mm) plywood scrap according to the push stick of mine that I like the most. Notice that I need two halves, as shown.
Je dois couper ces bords marqués et encerclés à 45°.
I must cut those marked and circled edges at 45°.
Pour le premier, le guide parallèle est à droite de la lame de scie.
For the first one, the rip fence is on the right side of the saw blade.
À cause de la pointe (cercle) qui pourrait coincer entre la table et le guide, ce dernier est déplacé du côté gauche de la lame.
Because of the tip (circle) that may catch between the table and the fence, this latter is moved to the left of the blade.
Une première coupe grossière à la scie à ruban.
A first rough cut at the band saw.
Je colle les pièces de façon à ce que le dessous forme une rainure en V.
I glue the pieces so the bottom will form a V-groove.
J’enlève tout excès de colle de la rainure avec une paille de plastique.
I remove any excess glue from the groove with a plastic straw.
La colle étant sèche, je suis de retour à la scie à ruban pour la coupe finale.
The glue being dry, I’m back to the band saw for the final cut.
Je finalise le périmètre à la ponceuse à bande et ensuite avec une ébarbeuse munie d’une fraise arrondir 1/8″ (3mm).
I complete the perimeter at the belt sander and then with a trim router outfitted with a 1/8″ (3mm) roundover bit.
Je ponce le talon plat pour accepter le crochet arrière.
I’m sanding the heel flat to accept the back hook or catcher.
Un ponçage final à main pour le confort. Une obligation.
A final hand sanding for comfort. A must.
Je perce le crochet arrière et deux en réserve.
I’m drilling the back hook and two spares.
Vous comprendrez qu’ici il faut percer des avant-trous pour ne pas fendre le contreplaqué.
You will understand that here you must drill pilot holes so the plywood won’t split.

Tel que montré, en plus de pousser la pièce, ce poussoir trois axes la maintien sur la table et aussi contre le guide lorsqu’utilisé à 45°. Il peut également être utilisé à plat sur une pièce.
As shown, besides pushing the workpiece forward, this three axis push stick keeps it on the table as well as against the fence when used at 45°. It can also be used flat on a workpiece.
Un autre outil maison qui sera très pratique et utile dans mon atelier, particulièrement pour les pièces étroites.
Another homemade tool that will be handy and useful in my shop, particularly for narrow stock.
