Besides another short carriage bolt, this is all the hardware I need for this project.

This solid maple blank, from a broken chair, will be the main piece. Notice the single rounded over edge. Perfect for the situation !
Cette mortaise existante, quasi centrée, sera le trou de départ pour le boulon de carrosserie.
This existing mortise, almost centered, will be the starting hole for the carriage bolt.
Pour m’assurer de percer perpendiculairement, j’utilise cet étau pratique. À noter que le champ arrondi est en dessous !
To ensure drilling perpendicularly, I’m using this handy vise. Take note that the rounded over edge is under !
Je suis prêt à enfoncer l’écrou à griffes, dans lequel le boulon est inséré pour bien l’aligner avec le trou traversant. Mais juste avant de frapper j’ai noté que les griffes feraient éclater le bois. Alors je l’ai tourné 90°, tel que vous pourrez le constater sur la prochaine photo.
I’m ready to drive the T-nut in, which the bold is inserted to align it with the through hole. But just before pounding I noticed the prongs would split the wood. Therefore I turned it 90°, as you will notice on the next photo.
À une extrémité, je perce un trou pour le boulon plus court de 1/4″ (6 mm) dont j’ai fait mention au début, lequel servira de pivot.
At one end, I’m drilling a hole for the 1/4″ (6 mm) carriage bolt I mentioned at the beginning, which will act as a pivot.
À gauche, je m’apprête à percer le guide arrière de mon plateau à tronçonner pour y passer le court boulon de carrosserie. Notez l’utilisation d’une chute pour bien localiser le trou afin que l’autre extrémité du bras soit au dessus de bord supérieur du guide.
On the left, I’m ready to drill the back fence of my crosscut sled for the short carriage bolt. Notice the use of a scrap piece to locate the hole properly so the opposite side of the arm will be proud above the upper edge of the fence.
Le boulon est maintenu avec une rondelle et un écrou à ailettes, pour faciliter les ajustements ultérieurs.
The bolt is held with a washer and a wing-nut, for easy further settings.
J’ai par chance ce bouton que j’ai récupéré d’une chaise de bureau.
Fortunately I have this knob I salvaged from an office chair.
Je bloque le bouton sur le boulon de carrosserie en serrant un écrou sous le bouton. Première classe !
À gauche on peut remarquer la tête du court boulon de carrosserie, lequel agit comme pivot.
I lock the knob on the carriage bolt by tightening a nut under the knob. First class !
On the left you can observe the head of the short carriage bolt, which acts as a pivot.
Le gabarit est prêt à l’emploi.
The holder is ready for use.
Ma main gauche applique la pression sur le bras pour maintenir la pièce alors que ma main droite pousse le plateau à tronçonner.
My left hand apply pressure on the arm to hold the workpiece down while my right hand pushes the crosscutting sled.
Le boulon du pivot permet l’accès aux pièces très rapidement alors que le bouton ajuste la hauteur selon leur épaisseur.
The pivot bolt allows quick access to the workpieces while the knob sets the height according to their thickness.
