I sanded all pieces and I rounded over all exposed corners.

I’m ready to glue, nail and screw.

This spring clamp holds the piece plumb while I spread the glue.

I locate where to drill and countersink for the fixed fence screws using my blind jig.

Since those corners must be free from glue, I quickly remove any excess using a plastic straw and I wipe off with a damp sponge.

This is the reason why I wanted the left fixed fence.

For the sliding fences, glue, nails and two screws should suffice.

Et des serre-joints, bien entendu.

And few clamps as well.

Since the first sliding fence should stop here, no need for the T-track to be screwed any further left.

I drill and countersink more holes. Why ? Because the required screws are only 3/8″ long (#4). This is also the reason why I wanted a tight fit for the rail to sit in the groove.

To locate where do drill, I drop a short bolt in the track and I pound the mobile fence bases with a dead blow hammer, holding the fences in the corner.

Infaillible !

Fool proof !

For each of the sliding fences, a hex bolt in the track, a washer and a knob. The protruding track will allow me to work with larger pieces.

C’est exactement ce que je voulais.

This is exactly what I wanted.

Both sides of this drawer held vertically tight, it will be easy to secure the third piece.

Et le rangement sera facile également. Un gabarit utile !

And storage will be easy as well. A handy jig !

Bon bricolage !

Happy Woodworking !

I don’t think I know anyone who has more design thought in their head then you my friend.
    Another excellent idea.
I think you should seriously consider incorporating a lot of your ideas into a book.
It would no doubt do well.
    Eric

    • Thanks so much, Eric. Surprisingly, you’re the second one mentioning about a book this week!
Healthwise, I won’t consider writing a book. I rather spend the little energy I have in my basement shop. Besides that, no need for a book since my website is freely available to anyone on the planet (and maybe behond :-)) as well as on LJ. Confined at home, I rather do what I like the most. Ex. I put only 7500 miles on my new pickup truck in three years.
By the way, the current design is not mine. I saw something similar a while ago.
Thanks again for your kind words.
      Best,
      Serge

    Serge,
Sorry about your health. Thanks for your clear and concise pictorial presentation. And it’s not made out of mdf! LOL! found you after checking on D-Handle Routers on LJ’s. I wasn’t the first :<)

    Keep up the good work.

    • Thank you, Thomas, particularly for your kind words about my health issue.

No MDF (Makes Defined Furniture) here. I’m runing out of stock! 🙂

And Welcome into my world. Do you plan to make your own D-Handle routers?

      Best,

      • Thomas Tieffenbacher aka DocSavage45 says:

Yep! You can see it under my projects, DocSavage45 on LJ’s. My first. After deciding to post it as my first project I did a search and found yours 2 years ago LOL!

Serge, I do hope whatever health issues you have are ones from which you can recover. Your jig is, as usual, simple, accurate and useful. I agree with Eric that your head enjoys working ideas into physical jigs. Congrats on another wonder. /s/ Don

    • Hi Don, Thank you for stopping by and for commenting. I’m always excited when I get feedback. About the heath issues, at least I don’t have pain. 🙂 However, no cure for now!

      Best,

      Serge

Aloha Serge – every time I visit your new posts, I crawl around in your archives for additional tips and jigs. This drawer jig is an AWESOME idea, and just what I need for my next project. Thank you!
