Il est parfois difficile d’estimer le calibre d’une particulière pièce de quincaillerie, particulièrement si vous ne trouvez pas votre vernier. Si vous voulez savoir quel foret utiliser sans outil à mesurer raffiné ou compliqué, mirez-le à l’horizontale.
Sometimes it’s hard to establish the size of a particular hardware, particularly if you can’t find your caliper. Whenever you want to know which drill bit to use without fancy or complicated measuring, eye ball it horizontally.

Déposez la quincaillerie sur l’établi et utilisez une baguette rectiligne pour ponter la quincaillerie et commencez avec un foret approximatif, tel que montré.
Drop the hardware on your workbench and use a straight stick to bridge the hardware and start with an approximate drill bit, as shown.

Lorsque le foret adéquat sera le même que le diamètre de la quincaillerie la baguette rectiligne sera parallèle à l’établi. Plus la baguette est longue, plus la réponse sera précise.
When the proper drill bit will match the size of the piece the straight edge will be parallel to the workbench. The longer the straight edge, the more precise is the answer.
