J’installe et j’assujettis sur mon établi ce support maison pour soulever la pièce à couper. Une fois encore, lorsque la table sera complétée j’aurai cette autre option pour utiliser la scie sauteuse à l’établi.

I install and secure this shop made support on my workbench to raise the piece to be cut. Once again, when the table will be completed I will have this other option when using the jig saw at the workbench.

La pièce bien assujettie au support, je suis prêt à faire les coupes. On peut déjà anticiper l’avantage d’utiliser cette table pour déposer la scie sauteuse.

J’alterne les coupes de chaque côté pour garder un bon support à la scie.

I alternate the cuts on each side to keep good support for the saw.

Les coupes sont faites, mais elles sont loin d’être douces. Après tout, cette rainure sera sans doute utilisée comme poignée !

The cuts are done, but they are far away from being smooth. After all, no doubt this slot will be used as handle!

Alors j’aligne la coupe avec le bord du support, ce dernier étant parfaitement droit. Le roulement du fer à ébarber suivra le bord du support et les couteaux vont adoucir les coupes rugueuses.

Then I align the cut with the edge of the support, this latter being perfectly straight. The bearing of the flush trim bit will ride against the edge of the support and the cutters will smooth out the rought cuts.

Finalement, j’arrondis à la table à toupie dans laquelle est toujours installé le fer à arrondir de 1/4’’.

Finally, I round it over at the router table, where the 1/4’’ rouding over bit is always installed.
