Multipurpose Benchtop Table #2 Table d’établi multifonctions

J’utilise cette chute pour tracer une encoche en forme de triangle à une extrémité du plateau et je la coupe à la scie à ruban. La table que je suis en train de fabriquer sera utile pour faire ce type de coupe avec la scie sauteuse sur l’établi sans devoir installer la scie à ruban.

I’m using this scrap to trace a triangle shape notch at one end of the tabletop and I cut it at the band saw. The table I’m building will be useful to make such cut using a jig saw at the workbench without having to set up the band saw.

Ici je figure où placer les pieds. Je veux m’assurer que les bords sont au même niveau car je prévois ranger la table verticalement.

Here I figuring out where to place the feet. I want to ensure that the edges will align because I’m planning to store the table vertically.

À l’autre extrémité je dois simplement éviter le fond de l’encoche en V.

At the other end I only have to clear the bottom on the V-notch.

Voulant faire un trou d’environ 3’’ de diamètre, je vois deux options　: utiliser le coupe-cercle à la perceuse à colonne ou le gabarit avec ma toupie et un guide de gabarit en laiton ou un fer à ébarber. Une fois encore, lorsque la table sera complétée j’aurai la troisième option d’utiliser la scie sauteuse à l’établi.

Planning to bore a 3’’-diameter hole (approx.), I see two options　: using a circle cutting bit at the drill press or using the template with my router as well as a brass guide bushing or a flush trim bit. Once again, when the table will be completed I will have the third option of using the jig saw at the workbench.

Finalement, je choisis la perceuse à colonne.

Pour faire une coupe nette, je perce à mi-chemin depuis chaque côté.

To end up with a clean cut, I drill half way from both sides.

Je termine cette étape à la table à toupie pour arrondir des bords de chaque côté.

I complete this step at the router table to round over the edges on both sides.
