Un collage défaillant / Failed Glue Joint

 

Si un joint de colle lâche lorsque les serres sont retirées ou peu après :

1. Vous avez utilisé la mauvaise colle.
2. Il y avait trop d’humiditié dans l’une ou l’autre pièce de bois.
3. La température ambiante était trop haute ou trop basse.
4. La surface était sale, huileuse ou rugeuse.
5. Un mélange de deux ou trois colles incorrect.
6. Mauvais serrage ou mauvais joint.
7. La colle était trop vieille ou périmée.

Si un joint de colle lâche plus tard :

1. Mouvement du bois – Vous avez utilisé un bois vert ou un bois avec un taux d’humidité inapproprié pour l’environnement.
2. Vous avez utilisé un joint inapproprié.
3. Il n’y avait aucun lien mécanique pour appuyer le joint.
4. Vous avez utilisé la mauvaise colle.

If a glue joint fails when the clamps are removed or soon after :

1. You used the wrong glue.
2. There was too much moisture in one or the other piece of wood.
3. The temperature was too high or too low.
4. The surface was dirty, oily, or rough.
5. Two or three-part adhesives were mixed incorrectly.
6. Poor clamping or poor joinery.
7. The glue was too old.

If a glue joint fails later :

1. Wood movement – You used green wood or wood with moisture content not matched to the environment.
2. You used the wrong joint.
3. There was no mechanical backup to the joint.
4. You used the wrong glue.
